The Westlake Chemical Lake Charles facilities participated in a company-wide Community Service Day event on Friday, April 7, by beautifying eleven local schools.
The beautification process for each school consisted of fresh new landscaping, repainting posts, trash clean-up and power-washing.
Teams of volunteers from Westlake's petro, poly, north and south facilities beautified Maplewood Elementary, Maplewood Middle, Vincent Settlement, S.P. Arnett Middle, LaGrange High, Our Lady Queen of Heaven, Sam Houston High, St. Theodore Holy Family, Vinton Elementary and Vinton High.
“What a great way for us to give back to the community, and in turn support our Partners in Education schools,” said Joe Andrepont, principle-community affairs for Westlake. “It was great to have volunteers from all four sites come together for a worthwhile cause.”
